During her speech, Stephanie McMahon stated she was honored and overwhelmed about inducting one of the greatest divas of all time. McMahon teased that Trish Stratus may not be done with wrestling.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — WWE announced at WrestleMania 29 that it has become a Founding Partner for the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games, a national sporting event in New Jersey June 14 to 21. The announcement was made on stage at MetLife Stadium with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, 2014 USA Games Chairman and CEO TJ Nelligan, President of Special Olympics North America Bob Gobrecht, President of Special Olympics New Jersey Marc Edenzon, WWE Executive Vice President of Creative Stephanie McMahon and Special Olympics athletes Ashley Weber of New Jersey and David Dennin of Connecticut. “WWE is proud to serve as a Founding Partner of the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games and utilize our global platforms to bring more attention to the accomplishments of so many determined and extraordinary athletes,” WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon said. “WWE, its Superstars and employees look forward to being part of these important events.”

Nearly 3,500 athletes will travel to New Jersey for the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games to compete in 16 Olympic-style team and individual sports, with the support of 1,000 coaches, 10,000 volunteers and an anticipated 70,000 spectators. The 2014 USA Games will celebrate the Special Olympics movement, promote the ideals of acceptance and inclusion through sport, and showcase the abilities of athletes with intellectual disabilities.

WWE will utilize all of its platforms, including TV broadcasts, Live Events, and digital and social media to generate awareness and raise funds in support of the USA Games. WWE will serve as the Official Production Partner of the games, taping the Opening Ceremonies as well as producing daily recaps of the sporting competitions and special events throughout the games. WWE will also produce an hourlong television show highlighting the games. WWE Superstars and Divas will participate in various events in conjunction with the promotion of the 2014 USA Games, and WWE employees will serve as volunteers at the games. Additionally, WWE will make a financial contribution to support the games.

“As evidenced by WWE’s Be a STAR anti-bullying alliance, which aims to build a positive and equitable environment through education and awareness, we knew we found a perfect partner in WWE for the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games,” Nelligan said. “The drive behind Special Olympics is to build communities of inclusion and acceptance for individuals with intellectual disabilities through sport. The 2014 USA Games is a celebration of these efforts on a national scale. We are proud to partner with WWE so that we can expand our reach and showcase how remarkable our athletes truly are.”

The 2014 USA Games will be staged throughout Mercer County, N.J., including competitions at Princeton University, Rider University, the College of New Jersey and Mercer County Park, with the Opening Ceremonies taking place at the Prudential Center in Newark.

“New Jersey is honored to have been selected to host the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games,” Gov. Christie said. “We are excited for these games to not only bring participants and spectators to our state, but we are thrilled at the opportunity to show others from around the nation, the true spirit of New Jersey. The long speculation of who will be inducting WWE’s former seven-time Women’s Champion is finally over. Stephanie McMahon is publicly honored that she will induct Trish Stratus into the 2013 Hall of Fame this Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

WWE Universe witnessed a compelling conversation between Trish Stratus and Stephanie McMahon on Twitter during WWE Monday Night Raw. Stratus asked McMahon if she would induct Stratus at this year’s Hall of Fame. McMahon responded to her tweet by saying “Yes!!! It would be my pleasure to induct one of the greatest Divas of all time into #WWEHOF #overwhelmed #honored.”

Stephanie McMahon and Trish Stratus were former on-screen rivals in the past decade. Both smart and powerful women fought each other in a match at WWE No Way Out in 2001.

Once this tweet surfaced, many began to speculate that the “Billion Dollar Princess” might be in her husband’s corner at WrestleMania 29.

Now, news is surfacing that this may no longer be speculation and may actually be happening.

Personally, I feel that this is great news as I have grown tired of seeing Shawn Michaels and Triple H prancing around with each other. Don’t get me wrong, Michaels is a legend and DX was a legendary faction. However, I think bringing Stephanie McMahon back into the fold will provide a bit more buzz for the match.

Let’s face it, fans have not seen Stephanie on WWE TV for some time now and I think it’s safe to say that she has been missed. The fact is, she provides a great on-air character and can get a crowd reaction as both a face and a heel.

Compile that with the added bonus of being a McMahon and you’ve got TV gold here.

Ultimately, she has not officially been added to the feud yet. However, I have to imagine that she will be back on WWE TV soon. Especially considering, Heyman just mentioned her name on last Monday’s Raw.

Overall, we are literally down to the wire here, so if she is getting involved, it kind of makes sense to bring her back this week

In the end, we will have to wait and see what happens here, as we all know the WWE can change its mind on a whim.

Stephanie McMahon discussed how and why WWE uses social media to promote their product and the creative side in the business. The company has the advantage of having their own social app, WWE ACTIVE and social media, Twitter, in order to get the people talking. Stephanie described fans as “the voice.”

Stephanie also revealed her thoughts on joining Twitter. She was nervous at the beginning because she wasn’t sure if she can tweet as an executive, or as a television character or allow people into her personal life. Her primary goal is to be a mix of all three to show the different hats she wears.
